Kitchen Hardware Trends for 2024

Big Islands

Open floor plans with large islands. The island of a kitchen has become more than just a gathering area, dining table and work space but has now become a major design focal point of the kitchen. People are adding color to the islands that complement the rest of the kitchen but also stands out on its own. More storage is also a must! That means more drawers hidden on the backside of the island.

Hidden Appliances

Showing off your large fridge used to be a goal but now hiding your appliances is a trend. This is done by making the front of your fridge blend in with the rest of your cabinets and putting your microwave into the island to look like a large drawer. This also means the appliance handle should match the other cabinet hardware in your kitchen.

Beverage Centers

Whether your drink is wine, water, coffee, tea or smoothies, a dedicated beverage center is becoming more popular. This does not mean to have a large cabinet with stuff inside but to have it open and have your accessories in bottom cabinets and drawers. If the station is separate from the kitchen, don't hesitate to change up the cabinet handles to treat it as its own.

More Wood

White cabinetry has been the main focus in kitchens for years but natural wood is making a comeback! Enhancing natural wood tones enhances the natural earth vibe new generations are looking for. This will also add subtle texture to mimic nature. Blue and green accent colors along with gold cabinet handles and knobs blend together very well with natural wood to give the kitchen a feeling of warmth.

Nature-Inspired Hues

Along with wood making a comeback, natural hues are a must. Along with your woodgrain cabinets, green is the most popular color for walls and tiles but other hues such as blue is not far behind.

Gold

All shades of gold is still going strong this upcoming year. Gold is the top choice for faucets taking the lead over stainless and black. Most designers would agree to match your light fixtures and your cabinet hardware with your faucets and it creates an all around balanced vibe. Depending on the brand the finish can be champagne bronze, golden champagne, satin champagne. Amerock does a great job making sure their products match the exact finish of  major plumbing and light fixture brands.

In Conclusion

The colors green and blue along with wood and gold are coming in hot for the upcoming year! But don't hesitate to get the traditional black and nickel hardware along with the matching appliances. Stainless steel will never go away unless companies decide to not make them anymore and black will always be a statement piece.

It all comes down to, what do you like? Yes, it is always nice to go with the trends and to keep up with the Jones' but in the end, you are the one that has to live in your kitchen so get what YOU like!
