We are a family run business straight out of Grand Rapids, MI. There are only 2 full time employees; a mother and her daughter. How did we start this business? Well, let me tell you!
It all started back in the 1980s when selling cabinet door hardware came into our family’s life. My grandfather worked at Keeler Brass/Belwith at the time and was able to get his hands on only a few products. He sold them in his driveway on 28th Street like it was a garage sale. Eventually, he was able to get a few more products so my grandmother had to be involved along with raising her 6 kids. As time passed the store grew and was relocated into their basement which was the beginning of The Basement Store. Many years have passed, and the store continues to grow!

The year is now 1999 and the internet was beginning to take over the world. My mother knew that she was going to be addicted to the online world, so she decided to sell something she knew a lot about, handles and knobs. This was the start of The Knob Shop! We have been selling on eBay since 2000 with over 40,000 ratings and have branched out to our own web store. In the meantime, I (the daughter) needed a job badly so my mom offered me one and I have been working for her for almost 10 years!

If your style hinge is discontinued, we can direct you to the best replacement. Currently, we sell top brands including: Amerock, Liberty Hardware, and Belwith to just name a few!
We are also authorized retailers of Keystone Accents, Carol Beach Knobs, Hickory Hardware and Belwith-Keeler and have a variety of discontinued vintage and antique products with unknown brand names.
